Free fast Covid-19 tests for all

Buddies are being reminded that free covid tests will be available to everyone from Monday.

The speedy tests will be part of a universal testing initiative to be introduced across the country after previously being rolled out to senior school pupils.

The lateral flow testing kits, which people can do at home for a result within 45 minutes, can be ordered online and delivered directly to people’s homes.

They will also be available to collect from local testing centres in the afternoon or early evening.

Confirming the nationwide roll out of the tests this week, Ms Sturgeon said: “I can confirm that lateral flow testing will be available to anyone in Scotland from April 26.

“You can order later flow test online for delivery to your home – and you can find information on how to do that on the Scottish Government’s website. Alternatively, you can collect the tests from covid testing centres in the afternoon or early evening.

“I would encourage everyone to take advantage of this offer.”
