A magic night on the moon

-

Footage from a live lunar stream from Paisley to the moon was watched more than 10,000 times.

Coats Observatory science curator John Pressly led the one- hour show in superb moon-watching conditions on Wednesday night.

The stunning footage was broadcast on the observatory’s Facebook page.

And it featured a perfect shot of the giant Copernicus crater.

It’s 58 miles wide and was probably formed 800 million years ago.

John said: “We wi l l hopefully get to run another live- steam in May before the sky gets too bright to see anything at a civilised hour a.

“Then we will aim to begin again in the autumn.

“We do have the partial solar eclipse coming up on June 10 and will be running an event for that.”
