Cops hunt hooded raider who swiped cash from woman
Female yob snatched money from victim at ATM
A woman has been left shaken after money she had just lifted from a cash machine was snatched by a hooded female.
The robbery happened at the Co-op in Neilston Road, Paisley, early on Saturday night and detectives are continuing to comb CCTV images.
The raider - in her 20s and wearing a black hoodie and disposable face mask - pounced moments after the woman had taken the money from the machine.
DC Colin Leggat, from Paisley CID, is heading the hunt for the robber.
He said: “This is a rare type of incident and the victim, who is aged 57, did not have time to get the money into her bag.
“The cash was grabbed from her hand and she was shaken up, as you can imagine, though was not physically injured.”
The thief is white, about 5ft 4ins tall, of slim-build and pale complexion, wearing a black hooded top and throw away face mask.
There was also a man in the area who police believe was an accomplice.
He is white, aged between 25 and 35 years old with a slim to medium build. He also had a gaunt appearance and was wearing tracksuit trousers and top.
Both suspects ran off and turned into Stock Street.
Detective Sergeant Martin Clark added: “This is a busy road with lots of traffic, so a number of motorists may have captured footage that could assist our enquiries in locating these two people.
“There would also have been plenty of people out on Saturday night with the warm weather and I am asking them to think back and consider if they noticed this man and woman.”
