Frankie and Benny’s diner opened
The Frankie and Benny’s restaurant in Braehead has reopened as part of a phased return to business by the chain.
The nationwide eatery confirmed last year that its outlet at Abbotsinch Retail Park would close permanently while the diner at Glasgow Airport would likely remain shut for some time.
The res taur a nt at Braehead had been closed since December 26 when Scotland went into a second nationwide lockdown.
Jo n a t h an Kni g h t , managing director of leisure and concessions at TRG –the company which owns Frankie and Benny’s – said: “We are delighted to be able to reopen these restaurants and welcome back our guests for dining.
“We look forward to the further easing of restrictions and being able to open up our indoors areas as soon as we are able.
“Our priority, as always, will be to ensure the health, safety and well- being of our teams and of our guests whilst providing an excellent dining experience.”
Mr Knight said a Filling Station and Chiquito restaurant would also open their doors again as part of the gradual return to operations across its 400 outlets in the UK.
In July last year TRG announced proposals to shut 125 restaurants when it confirmed the coronavirus pandemic had worsened an already difficult financial situation.
It confirmed the outlet situated off Renfrew Road would be part of t hat nat i o n w i d e cull.
