Dispute resolved

-

The long- running dispute between lecturers and college bosses appears to be off after a deal was struck.

Members of the EIS/FELA union, including at West College Scotland’s Paisley campus, have taken part in several one-day walkouts over the past two months.

Now it has been announced that the dispute has been resolved with both agreeing to the resolution.

John Kelly EIS/ FELA branch secretary at West College Scotland said: “EIS/ FELA members at West College Scotland and across the country welcome the fact that Colleges Scotland have finally seen some sense and recognised that those who prepare, teach and assess in Scotland’s FE Colleges should be employed on lecturing terms and conditions. Students and staff are delighted that this national dispute has been resolved and lecturers can get on with doing what they do best - teaching students.”

A spokesperson for Colleges Scotland said: “The Colleges Scotland Employers’ Association has unanimously ratified a resolution to the dispute as agreed with the EIS/ FELA last week.”
