Workers honoured
Renfrewshire’s provost has added her voice to those marking International Workers’ Memorial Day.
Councillor Lor raine Cameron paid tribute to all those who have lost their lives at work as key landmarks across the region were lit purple as a mark of respect.
Renfrew Town Hall and the Bascule Bridge on Inchinnan Road were amongst key buildings in Scotland turning purple on Wednesday evening.
Provost Cameron said: “International Workers’ Memorial Day is an opportunity to remember those who have lost their lives at work, and this year we include those who have lost their lives on the front line, treating and caring for those with Covid-19.”
Ms Cameron spoke following two ceremonies held to mark the occasion in Renfrewshire.
