Put safety first, bikers
Bikers are being urged to check their tyres once a week as the motorcycle season starts in earnest.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has issued some top tips to bikers across Renfrewshire as part of Bike Week.
Safety experts at the service are reminding bikers that tyres are the “most safety critical” element of any bike.
Anything that prevents tyres from operating at peak efficiency, such as lack of tread and low pressure, puts drivers and any passengers at risk.
The service has also asked people to log to tyresafe. org where bikers can gain a wealth of information on how to keep their bikes and themselves safe on the roads this summer.
