Alleged murder bid in Paisley

A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an alleged attempted murder in Paisley.

Cops raced to Renfrew Road in the town’s Gallowhill area shortly after 8pm where they discovered a 43-year-old man within a property with serious wounds to his neck and body.

He was rushed by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment, where he remains in a stable condition.

Police confirmed yesterday a 44-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the alleged attack and that enquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokespers­on said: “We can confirm a 44- year- old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged attempted murder of a 43-year-old man.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
