Rubbish blaze is tackled

Fire crews were called after rubbish went up in flames in Renfrew.

Emergency crews were called out to the incident in Canal Street, at around 10pm on Sunday night.

It’s not thought that the blaze was started deliberately.

A number of items caught fire but fire crews quickly doused the flames.

A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokesman said: “We were made aware of a small fire in Canal Street, Renfrew at around 10pm on Sunday.

“The fire was extinguished and there were no reports of any injuries.

“It is not being treated as suspicious.”
