PAWS FOR A PICTURE
Photography students put furry friends in the frame
Talented photography students put their pet pooches in the frame for their latest fun project.
Members of the HNC photography course at West College Scotland’s Paisley campus took part in the social photography unit where they photograph family and children as well as dogs and other pets.
Curriculum head Robert Tabor explained: “The idea is to train students in the real world work they might be involved in as a professional photographer. “During the lockdown, many people bought new puppies, which means
photographing dogs is really in demand.
“We think we are unique in offering this type of photography training. We are so pleased to have a pet photography expert Angie Isac on the team here.
“She has such a lovely way with animals and is an incredible photographer.
“It makes life really interesting as at points we are surrounded with dogs, leads, bowls, puppy pads and dog toys – it’s great fun!”
Student Ali Burden- Blake, from Bishopton, said: “I am a dog owner and photographer and to learn how to capture them so well in the studio has been exciting – I’m combining my favourite things.
“I recommend this course if you are interested in professional photography.”
With lockdown easing, the college photography studios are about to reopen and students also work on location to capture dog images.
Professional print laboratory Loxley Colour Labs is supporting the college for the second year running by choosing the toprated photograph of one of our dog models.
Robert added: “We are always looking for doggy models and if you would like to have your pet photographed at no cost to you please get in touch.”
