Elderslie-born star set to shine in new Marvel hit
Former Paisley theatre star Richard Madden has featured in a hotly anticipated Marvel sizzle reel as fans gear up to see him in new comic movie The Eternals later this year.
The Game of Thrones and Rocketman actor, who got his acting chops at PACE theatre group in the town, is set to be one of the main stars in the big-budget movie which is part of the Marvel cinematic universe.
The Eternals flick revolves around a group of ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. This big-budget spectacular has a far-out sci-fi concept, an impressive cast, and is directed by Chloé Zhao.
It will see Elderslie- born Madden star as Ikaris alongside big A-list actors such as Angelina Jolie (Thena), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Kit Harington (Dane Whitman, aka the Black Knight) and more.
Eternals was originally going to come out in 2020, but was pushed back after cinemas closed. The new release date is November 5, 2021.
