-

A lout who admitted abusing his partner in her own home will have to wait to discover his punishment.

Daniel Ferguson, 42, admitted shouting and swearing at his ex Michelle O’Reilly and refusing to leave her property during a disturbance.

Ferguson appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court for sentencing after pleading guilty to the domestic disorder offence against Ms O’Reilly at a flat in Albion Street on January 17, last year.

Ferguson, now staying in Saltcoats, North Ayrshire, also admitted struggling with her and behaving aggressively during the rammy.

The case had been adjourned to call for background report s. However, these were not ready when he appeared in the dock before Sheriff Lindsey Kooner.

Defence agent David Nicholson said: “The matter had been deferred to await the outcome of another case at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.

“Mr Ferguson pleaded guilty to that offence of public disorder and his sentencing has been deferred until May 25.

“I would ask the court continues the matter until after that sentencing takes place.”

Sheriff Kooner agreed with the request and ordered Ferguson to appear in Paisley on June 1 when he will discover his fate.
