Animal magic at Clyde Ark farm
Fa m i l i e s f l o c ked to Finalystone Estate at the weekend to enjoy some quality time with some of the adorable animals at The Ark on the Clyde.
Renfrewshire families flocked to the country park to visit the animal park which reopened on Saturday following months of closures due to the covid pandemic.
Youngsters got to get up close in personal with animals of all sizes at the farm, which offers children educational experiences with animals all year round.
Founded by Nora Buchanan and Heather Meikle, the pair developed the urban farm over the years to become the successful non-profit organisation it is today.
Throughout the year, Nora and Heather use the animals to host hands on educational clubs for families and schools, with youngsters getting the chance to learn about caring for a variety of farm animals and getting to look after their newborn lambs, goats, sheep and donkey as well as smaller creatures including rabbits and guinea pigs.
Nora and Heather even take their beloved animals to care homes and other community organisations to give people a chance to interact with critters of all shapes and sizes.
The sessions at their base in Langbank have proved so popular that they are now hoping to expand and offer more for families, schools and other facilities in Renfrewshire throughout the week.
