Paisley and District u3A will be welcoming author Philip Caine for theit latest online talk this afternoon.

As part of his online presentato­n, Philip will reveal how events in life can be stranger than fiction.

Viewers will learn how Philip moved from his home town of Barrow in Furness to finally work in Bagdad in Iraq and also in Russia.

Those who join the online event can quiz the writer, and have a chat afterwards. The zoom meeting starts at 2pm today.

Speaking about the event, U3A chair, Kathy O’Donnell said: “It will be fascinatin­g to hear about the choices Philip Caine made in his career which led to a new life back in Barrow as a crime writer.

“He bases the plots for his action thrillers on his experience­s.

“Given that he has worked in some of the world’s dangerous places, this might be a time to hold onto your seats!”
