Lout sent ex -partner abusive messages

A man has escaped with a warning after sending abusive messages to his expartner on social media.

Raymond Thirwell, 38, used Facebook to send the messages to Samantha Burns.

Thirwell, formerly of Linwood, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatenin­g and abusive manner at Brown Street, Paisley, and Braehead Shopping Centre, Renfrew, on June 22, 2019, where he used Facebook to post offensive messages to Ms Burns.

Sentence had been deferred on Thirwell for him to be of good behaviour, when the case called before Sheriff Eoin McGinty.

Defence agent David Nicholson said his client was not present at court as he had been staying in homeless accommodat­ion.

He stressed that Thirwell had been of good behaviour and had not come to the attention of police.

Procurator fiscal depute Raisa Ahmed confirmned ther there had been no fresh com complaints to police.

Sh Sheriff McGinty said he was prepared to admomnish Thir Thirwell in the circumstan­ces a and would not require a Non Harrassmen­t O Order banning him from con contacting or approachin­g Ms B Burns.
