Teenager faces trial
A teen is facing trial for having drugs and a knife.
Thomas Downie, 18, is accused of being in possession of cannabis and a blade in Paisley on April 13.
Downie, of the town’s Argyle Street, denied the charges against him when he made a brief appearance at Paisley Sheriff Court.
Prosecutors claim he was found in possession of cannabis, a Class- B substance, at Caledonia Street.
He was also said to have been found with a lock-back knife.
Defence agent Tony Callahan confirmed that his client is pleading not guilty to the allegations and asked that his client be released on bail.
Sheriff David Pender agreed to the request.
A trial has been set down for October 21 this year, with a pre-trial hearing slated for September 22.
