Walking for health has been given new focus by the East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership.
Groups explore the great outdoors and suit a variety of abilities, with a capacity for ten at a time.
All are led by qualified volunteer walk leaders supported by the HSCP.
Sine Delahunt, of East Renfrewshire Council, said: “These weekly walking groups have proven extremely popular and have helped hundreds of people not only get regular exercise, but also socialise and meet other likeminded people.”
On Mondays, the Neilston youth group meets at the ear memorial at 10.15am. The walk has a moderate pace and lasts 40 minutes.
On Tuesdays, two groups set out in Barrhead. The St John’s Strollers begins at 10am from the Cowan Park entrance. It is dementia and MacMillan Cancer friendly and is a slow pace around the park.
A moderate trail - known as the Auchenback Walkers -i s also on Tuesdays, starting 10am at ARC on Aurs Drive. It also takes 40 minutes. Book via sine.delahunt@ eastrenfrewshire. gov. uk or 07894 802 349.
