Two men accused of attack on teen

Two men have been arrested after a teenager was allegedly attacked and robbed by armed men in Renfrew.

It is claimed the men assaulted the 19- year- old in Newmains Road around 9.45pm on Friday.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, for treatment.

The alleged attackers are said to have been armed with a bottle and a knife.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We can confirm two men, aged 20 and 23, have been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged assault and robbery in Newmains Road, Renfrew, on Friday night.

“A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”
