Man,22, held after racist and butt claim

A man has been arrested over allegations he assaulted two police officers and hurled racist abuse in the dead of night.

Cops happened to be in Kilnside Road, Paisley at around 3.40am on Friday, May 7.

And when they heard a disturbance they went to investigate.

It ’ s claimed a man approached them and kicked one office before then attempting to head butt the other.

He is also said to have made racist remarks.

There were no reports of any injuries.

A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokesman said: “We can confirm a 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with police assault offences and a racial breach of the peace.

“It followed an alleged incident in Kilnside Road, Paisley in the early hours of Friday, May 7.

“A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
