Baseball bat brute will wait for fate

-

A brute who threw a baseball bat at his girlfriend and smashed her windows has had his sentencing delayed.

Kevin Connor, 25, attacked his partner Laura McCrudden at a property in Lochwinnoch amid claims she had assaulted him on September 1 last year.

Connor was also found in possession of a hammer in Lochwinnoch on December 28 last year after he had been shouting at witnesses.

And he was later found in the company of Ms McCrudden, in breach of his bail conditions.

He appeared from custody for sentencing after pleading guilty to charges of public disorder, smashing windows, throwing a baseball bat, possession of a hammer, and breaching conditions of bail.

Defence agent Terry Gallanagh said a risk assessment report requested by the court on behalf of his client had not been completed.

He asked the case be continued until this report is available.

Sheriff Colin Pettigrew agreed to adjourn sentencing.

He said: “The purpose of the report is a risk assessment.

“He accepts an inevitable custodial sentence, the length of which is still to be assessed.”

Connor will was remanded in custody until May 28 when he is expected to discover his fate.
