Teenager accused of assault on man

An 18- year- old man has been arrested over claims he headbutted another man in a Renfrew close.

Police were called following a disturbance in the town’s Fulbar Street on Friday.

It’s alleged the teenager assaulted a 42-year-old man who challenged him as he repeatedly kicked a close door.

He was arrested and charged by officers a short time later.

The older man sustained minor injuries but did not need medical attention.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police were called to report of a disturbance in Fulbar Street, Renfrew at around 11pm on Friday, May 14.

“An 18-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.

“A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
