Woman attacked police

A boozed up woman attacked two cops who were attempting to arrest her boyfriend.

Donna Mullen, 49, lost the plot with officers called to her address in Paisley on April 22, this year.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Mullen, who appeared from custody, pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting PC Victoria Tomlinson at a flat in Maxwelton Street where she pushed her on the body and repeatedly seized hold of her by her clothing.

She also admitted a charge of assaulting PC Mark Maxwell by pushing him on the body and repeatedly seizing hold of him by his clothing.

Defence agent Bob Kerr confirmed his client was admitting responsibi­lity for the charges and that she “tried to stop police from carrying out the arrest.”

Mr Kerr added his client is due receive a sentence for other matters next week, including breaches of bail involving her boyfriend, whom she is banned from contacting.

Mullen will be brought back to court for sentencing on May 24.
