Cops probe murder bid after blaze
A murder bid investigation has been launched after a Renfrew home was torched in a “targeted” attack.
Three people were forced to escape when the property, in Western Park Gate, was deliberately set alight in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Cops probing the incident, which happened around 3.10am, say they are now treating it as attempted murder.
No one was seriously hurt in the blaze and detectives are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Detective Inspector Neil Martin, from Paisley CID, said: “This was a targeted attack that has been frightening for the occupiers of the house.
“Luckily, nobody was seriously injured.
“We are appealing to anyone who has any information on this incident or any CCTV images to contact us via 101 quoting reference number 0738 of 23 May 21.”
