Education chief thanks parents for support
Renfrewshire’s schools boss has written to thousands of parents thanking them for their support and patience during lockdown.
Steven Quinn, director of children’s services at Renfrewshire Council, took the rare direct step after a year like no other.
He told them:“Thank you for everything you are doing to support our children and staff to be safe and well at school.
“By following the national coronavirus protection measures, you are supporting our schools, nurseries and their communities to help suppress the virus.
“It’s been a difficult 14 months for everyone, so it is a welcome boost for our mental and physical health and wellbeing to be able to get out and meet family and friends.
“It’s important that we continue to take advantage of these opportunities while we also follow the covid rules to protect ourselves and others.”
Steven is urging people to take a test. He added:“The more testing that we do, the clearer idea we have on how coronavirus is spreading in our communities, so I would encourage you to use this service.”
