Green MSP broke covid rules in the pub
A Renfrewshire MSP caught in a pub breaching Covid-19 rules has apologised.
Scottish Green Ross Greer, who is on the West of Scotland regional list, was photographed in and Edinburgh boozer.
He was there with party leaders Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater with a fourth man.
Eye witnesses watched as they spent about an hour with drinks inside Browns in
George Street in the heart of the New Town.
Under the city’s Level 2 rules only three households can meet up indoors.
A statement said:“We attended a work-related meeting in a venue in central Edinburgh on Tuesday evening, where the three-household limit was not upheld.
“This was an honest mistake, we’re kicking ourselves and we apologise unreservedly.”
Ross celebrates his 27th birthday next week.
When he was elected in 2016 at the age of 21, he became Scotland’s youngest MSP.
He gained 17,218 votes (5.3 per cent) as an additional member for the West Scotland region. Ross now serves as joint chair on the party’s executive.
