Parks review
A mass review of play parks in Renfrewshire is to get underway as the local authority prepares to invest over £ 1 million in outdoor areas.
The probe will see all 97 play parks in the region examined by Renfrewshire Council.
Those found most in need of repairs and new equipment will be prioritised but council bosses have promised that “all communities will see improvements”.
It comes as the council vows to spend £1.25m on play parks over the next two years.
A plan for proposed upgrades should be completed within weeks and opened for consultation.
The full list of play parks to receive investment will then be taken to the Infrastructure, Land and Environment Policy Board for approval in August.
