Appeal following house breaking

-

A Renfrew man came home to discover callous crooks had ransacked his home and made off with a number of valuables.

The victim returned to his home address in the town’s Ferguson Street at around 5pm on Tuesday to discover his front door had been forced open and damaged by the thieves.

He then found a number of valuable items had been taken, including a TV, totalling hundreds of pounds.

It is thought the crooks gained entry to the house sometime between Monday and Tuesday.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything in the area around that time.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “A number of items were stolen from the victim’s home while he was not home and it was only discovered when he returned to his address early on Tuesday evening.

“There is a large window of time when this incident could have occurred so we are asking anyone in the area who may have seen or heard anything to please get in touch to assist us with our enquiries.”
