Cops probe attack

A man was rushed to hospital after being brutally attacked by two thugs in Paisley.

The 26- year- old was walking in the town’s Well Street when he was subjected to the horrific assault shortly after midnight yesterday.

He was attacked by two men, who left him with several wounds to his head before fleeing the area.

Police and the emergency services were called to the town’s west end where they discovered the man with the serious injury to his head.

He was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

Police in Paisley are now appealing for informatio­n following the serious assault.

A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokesman said: “We were called to Well Street, Paisley following reports of a serious assault shortly after midnight on June 3.

“A 26- year- old man was taken to hospital for treatment to a number of small laceration­s on his head.

“He was released following treatment.

“We would ask anyone who may have seen or heard anything around the time of the incident to please get in touch to assist with enquiries into this incident.”
