Starlet Erhahon earns his first cap

-

Young St Mi r ren star Ethan Erhahon capped his impressive breakthrough season with the Buddies with a first Under-21 cap for Scotland.

The recently- turned 20-year-old was a mainstay in the Saints side that made it to two major cup semi-finals, as well as helping his side achieve their best top flight finish for more than 30 years.

The midfielder lined up in the heart of Scot Gemmill’s side on Wednesday at Dumbarton’s C& G Systems Stadium.

Unfortuntely he couldn’t help them get the better of their Northern Irish counterparts, who featured Erhahon’s teammate Daniel Finlayson in defence.

Dale Taylor put the visitors in front, before Rangers winger Glenn Middleton rifled home a penalty to level the scoring.

Barry Baggley restored Northern Ireland’s lead, with Scotland fighting hard for another equaliser in the game’s closing stages but just coming up short.

E l s e w h e re on the international stage Buddies star midfielder Jamie McGrath was hoping to make his Ireland debut last night.

Ireland were due to face Andorra, with McGrath hoping to earn his first full cap for his country.
