Gardens will open to raise charity cash

-

The doors will be open to an award- winning school garden later this month as part of a national event.

The Craig Hepburn Memorial Garden and Outdoor Learning Centre, at Linwood High School, is taking part in Scotland’s Gardens Scheme.

It will be open on Tuesday, June 22 from 4pm till 6pm then again on Wednesday, June 23 from 3pm till 6pm. Entry is £3.50 for adults and free for children.

The original garden with an outdoor classroom has been expanded to include community raised beds, an orchard, a greenhouse and presentation area.

Dedicated staff work with all year groups in the school, reconnecting them to the natural world whether it is through growing in the organic garden, encouraging biodiversity or learning about sustainability.

The school won the Cultivation Street competition in 2020.
