Woman bitten by squirrel

A kindly woman was bitten by a hurt squirrel.

The animal was lying injured in the Walled Garden of Barshaw Park.

The incident happened on Tuesday.

While it was ongoing, the Friends of Barshaw Park group said: “It has been reported to RSPCA and so should be attended to shortly.

“Visitors to the garden should not approach it. It has already bitten a woman who tried to help.”
