Man injured in street attack
A man was rushed to hospital after he was attacked and left injured in a Paisley street.
The 28-year-old victim was discovered in Clarence Street, Seedhill, in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Cops were called to the scene around 1am and the stricken man was rushed to A&E for treatment.
It’s understood his injuries were relatively minor, but detectives leading the investigation said the incident could have turned out far worse.
Detective Constable Dougie Macfarlane, from Paisley CID, said: “Thankfully, the man did not require any extensive treatment, but this is an incident that could quite easily have turned much more serious.
“I am appealing for anyone in the Clarence Street or Seedhill area of Paisley, who may have seen anything suspicious in the early hours of yesterday morning, to please come forward.
“If you believe you may have information which could assist our enquiries, call 101, quoting incident 0183 of 10 June.
“Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
Meanwhile, cops are investigating a“random
and unprovoked attack” in the town’s Neilston Road.
A 32-year-old man was on his mobile phone when a hooded thug punched him in the face and ran off.
Police are investigating the incident, which happened at around 8.20pm on Wednesday, and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The suspect is described as wearing a blue hooded top and dark coloured mask. It is not known if it was a male or female.
A Police Scotland spokesman said:“This appears to have been a completely random and unprovoked assault.
“We are keen to trace the individual responsible and would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
“If you have any information in relation to this incident, please contact police.”
