Free bike repairs in Linwood
Kids will be able to get their bikes spruced up for summer with a new initiative by Own Yer Bike.
The charity - which fixes broken bikes while teaching young people how to look after their wheels - is launching a new repair outlet at the Tesco store in Linwood.
Volunteers will be at the supermarket on Saturday, June 26 between 10am and 2pm to complete repairs to children’s bikes.
They will also be available to do safety checks to reassure parents their children’s bikes are safe for use over the school holidays.
The scheme will return to the Bridge Street outlet every fortnight until August 21 when most youngsters return to school.
Repairs to adult bikes will continue to take place at the Ferguslie Cycling Hub on Falcon Crescent.
For more information on the summer scheme and other children’s workshops at the charity’s Ferguslie base email info@ownyerbike.org or search Own Yer Bike on Facebook.
