Super trips still on for school kids

- BEN RAMAGE

Renfrewshire school kids will continue to get “once-in-alifetime” trips to some of the biggest football clubs in the world after a new deal was struck between inspiresport and the Scottish Schools Football Association (SSFA).

inspiresport, who work closely with Paisley Premiership club St Mirren on several projects, signed a new threeyear deal on the 17th anniversary of the original.

Taking place at the home of Scottish football Hampden Park, the contract extension will see youngsters from schools like Gryffe High and Paisley Grammar continue to get the chance to visit European giants like Real Madrid, Porto and Valencia.

Tours to massive English Premier League clubs like Manchester City and Chelsea have also been a favourite in recent years.

The new partnership also sees inspiresport named as key supporters across many of the organisations’ annual tournaments.

Robert Allan, president of the SSFA and also the secretary of Paisley and District Schools Football Association, said:“inspiresport have been long term partners with the SSFA, providing oncein-a-lifetime, sports development tours for schools across the length and breadth of Scotland.

“A three-year extension to the support, from inspiresport, for SSFA tournaments has also just been announced and will take us into our 20th year of partnership.

“Should any school be looking for a football tour to one of the world’s top professional clubs, then look no further than inspiresport.”

inspiresport are currently the only sports development tour operator to be endorsed by multiple home nation governing bodies for school and youth football.

Jed McCabe, inspiresport’s head of sales for Scotland, said: “We’re over the moon to continue our relationship with the SSFA and are excited to see what the next few years will bring in terms of strengthening our support.

“Increasing our involvement in tournaments is a great step forward, and I’m looking forward to attending matches to see first-hand the future of school football in Scotland.”
