LAYING Take care to secure your homes

-

WITH DIVISIONAL COMMANDER CHIEF SUPERINTENDENT DAVID DUNCAN

I hope you are all enjoying the longer days and making the most of the breaks in the weather.

Unfortunately some have taken advantage of people being able to be out and about during the day.

Your local officers have, again, ensured that their enjoyment of the outdoors has been shortlived and that the rest of us can rest easier.

Please though, take care of your homes and valuables – we are here to help with advice and support.

For more information please take a look at our website.

About noon on Wednesday, March 10 officers attended reports of a man attempting to break into properties at Matalan and Barskiven Circle, Paisley.

The officers traced witnesses and diligent enquiries through CCTV identified the culprit who was arrested for various offences.

Around 2.45pm on Saturday, March 12, at Scott Avenue, Johnstone a man was arrested by officers for being within a property and in surrounding gardens where he intended to commit theft.

Officers are carrying out patrols to deter and prevent crime and disorder across Renfrewshire.

They have dealt with several situations to stop violence escalating and deal with offenders.

On Saturday, March 12, around

1am officers responded to reports in Meadowside Street, Renfrew in relation to people fighting in the street.

They attended swiftly, unfortunately finding several people with injuries.

They gathered evidence and identified the suspect, one female, who was arrested and charged.

At around 10pm on Friday, March 18, at a bus stop at Linwood Road, police attended reports of a man causing a disturbance.

They found the suspect on board a stopped bus in possession of a bottle and he was being aggressive towards members of the public.

He turned his aggression towards the officers who arrested the man, who assaulted both officers sustaining thankfully minor injuries.

Both officers are well and a great job done, in difficult circumstances, which undoubtedly protected the public.

We are needed around the clock, 365 days a year.

Your local officers need to be ready to respond to incidents no matter the time of day or night.

At 8am on Sunday, March 27, it was reported to police that an assault had taking place at Greenock Road in Paisley.

Officers attended and apprehended a man who had attacked another male who sustained minor injuries.

We will continue to patrol diligently to address those who cause disturbance and use violence on others, helping keep your communities safe.

My genuine and heartfelt thanks to our communities as always for your support to local officers in tackling crime and issues of concern in your areas.

We can’t achieve these results without your support. If you would like to let us know about any issues affecting you, please call us on
