Construction firm celebrates turnover success
A Paisley-based construction company established almost 20 years ago has reached a new milestone by reaching a turnover of £30 million.
City Gate Construction specialises in construction, refurbishment, fabrication, bespoke joinery, maintenance and regeneration and has bases across the UK with its headquarters in Paisley.
The company employs 227 people from six locations – including almost 180 in Renfrewshire – and recently won the contract for Globe Homes new development in Gourock.
It has pledged to employ seven apprentices and two graduates to encourage more young people to join the construction industry.
David Palmer, CHC commercial director said:“We have broken the £30m barrier in turnover as a result of continuing to develop and forge strategic partnerships within our marketplace and investing in local people, plant, equipment, and technology despite the challenges facing the industry and we have no intention of stopping growth.
“Our people are our greatest asset. Their hard work, commitment, and vision has been the most vital component in the continuous development of CGC going from strength to strength and achieving this remarkable accomplishment.
“Focused on challenging the norms in the construction industry, we have developed a unique incentive scheme for our workforce whilst having undergone a massive recruitment drive which has helped attract the best local talent.
“We are pleased to soon be welcoming great additions to the team which will support this continued growth of the business.
“We are committed to delivering contracts on-time, on-budget, to the highest standards of quality and maintaining our reputation as a leading force and customer focused business within the construction industry.”
The company works with local authorities throughout Central Scotland, housing associations nationwide and exclusive private developers, recently starting work on The Linn, a unique Victorian property on the Rosneath peninsula.
A new fabrication workshop in Bellshill is due to open at the end of may following a £350,000 investment.
City Gate Construction was formed in 2003 and is headquartered in West Avenue close to Phoenix Retail Park.
