A determined restaurant owner is excited to see his new business flourish after three years of sweat.

Business owner Rana Singh said that he had “many sleepless nights” when it came to working on his new curry house – Chilli Flames in Broomlands Street, Paisley – and was welcomed by a football star, St Mirren’s chief operating officer Keith Lasley .

Mr Singh had planned to open his business before lockdown but, due to the covid pandemic halting all production, the timescale kept getting delayed.

Now, after three years of stress ,Chilli Flames is open for business and its owner says he is very excited.

Speaking to the Express, Rana said: “It was very scary when the lockdown happened as I didn’t know if I would be able to continue with it.

“It has definitely cost more than I anticipated. Things like tables and chairs were so hard to come by.

see it all come together and now have it open is amazing.

“To have people come in already asking for menus or when we open is such a brilliant feeling.”

Talented Rana already has a taste of success as he also owns the popular Mirage restaurant in the town’s Broomlands Street – and has served up two gold medals and two bronze team medals at the Taekwondo European Championships eight years ago.

He was still competing up until 2020 – but due to the pandemic and his new business venture, he had to put that on hold.

Now looking to make his mark in Paisley once more, Rana says the new restaurant is something different the west end of the town doesn’t have.
