East Renfrewshire businesses offered grant support

-

Business owners across East Renfrewshire are being invited along to a series of events aimed at providing information on grant funding opportunities available to them.

The sessions, organised by East Renfrewshire Council, will take place in Barrhead, Newton Mearns and Clarkston during March, April, May and June.

They will feature presentations on a range of support programmes, with case studies from local businesses who have previously accessed funding, and they will allow businesses to network with each other.

Businesses will also be able to access a single point of contact to enable them to access tailored support.

The events will be hosted by staff from the council’s economic development team.

The local authority’s procurement team will also attend each event, as will representatives from Business Gateway East Renfrewshire. All the staff at the events will be able to provide expert advice to the local business community.

The first event will be held at the Greenlaw Works business centre in Newton Mearns on Wednesday, March 29, between 9am and 10.30am. This event will be focused on professional services, as well as businesses based at Greenlaw Works itself.

The second event will take place at Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire in Barrhead on Tuesday, April 18, from 9am -10.30am. This event is open to all businesses.

A third event, back at the Greenlaw Works on Wednesday, May 24, between 9am and 11am, will focus on businesses in the local construction industry.

The final event is at Clarkston Hall on Wednesday, June 14, from 9am -10.30am and will be open to all businesses.

East Renfrewshire Council leader Owen O’Donnell (right) said:“These events are a fantastic opportunity to find out about the grant funding we have available this year.

“You’ll also be able to speak to advisors on a range of relevant topics and network with the local business community.

“We’re committed to supporting the local economy and ensuring businesses have support available to them, so I’d encourage you to take a look at the list of events and book your place.”
