St Mirren have a number of selection worries ahead of this afternoon’s showdown with Kilmarnock.

Boss Stephen Robinson and his backroom staff were yesterday assessing several players as they finalised plans for the Premiershi­p trip to Rugby Park.

Defensivel­y, there could be a significan­t reshuffle with wing-backs Elvis Bwomono and Scott Tanser both struggling to make it.

And in the centre of defence, James Bolton is nursing a broken hand and so will be missing today but could return for the visit to Motherwell on Easter Saturday.

Conor McMenamin, Jaden Brown, Richard Taylor and Charles Dunne could all be in contention for starting places.

“We’ve got a couple of knocks and bruises,” the manager said at the club’s Ralston training ground.

“Elvis is a big doubt for us. He’s not trained all week with a virus.

“Scott pulled up on Monday and hasn’t trained since so we’ll have to assess him. James has had a break in his hand and will definitely be out.

“He’s got a cast on right now but we’re hoping with the internatio­nal break coming up he’ll be ready to go when we come back.”

Stephen Robinson insists his players deserve all the plaudits for inspiring a brilliant Buddies backing today.

Euro hopefuls St Mirren are expected to take up to 2,500 fans to Kilmarnock for a Rugby Park cracker.

Fourth-placed Saints are a point clear of Derek McInnes’ side in fifth – and seven ahead of Hibernian who have their noses pressed up against the topsix window.
