Take a giant leap to help Erskine veterans

-

A Renfrewshire charity is asking Buddies if they are brave enough to take part in a thrilling new addition to one of its most popular annual fundraising events.

Erskine Veterans Charity bikers meet will take place on Sunday, May 26 – when more than 1,000 bikers, trikers and riders will participate in a spectacular parade.

But this year, thrillseekers will be able to try an extra challenge for the charity as it has added the bikers meet bungee jump.

Not for the faint-hearted, those who like a test – along with the opportunity to raise funds for Scotland’s largest veterans charity – will jump from a 160ft crane within the Erskine Veterans Village watched by the hundreds of people attending the bike meet.

Deputy head of fundraising and marketing communications, Gordon Stevenson, said:“We are delighted to be bringing this daring new event to our much-loved bike meet.

“Our supporters are always up for a challenge and we are sure this is one they will love. The funds raised at events such as this are what allows us, as a charity, to continue in our life changing and inspirational work with veterans across all sectors of our charity.

“We are grateful for every penny raised.”

To find out more, community fundraiser Sharon Meiklejohn will be only too happy to help.

Sharon said:“Anyone interested in booking a place on the Bungee Jump should visit the Erskine website at erskine.org.uk, here you will find all the information you need to make your dream come true.”

Those interested in the bikers meet bungee jump can register at: community@erskine.org.uk or call 0141 814 4555.
