minutes at Rugby Park after Saints had stormed into a 2-0 half-time lead.

“Two or three days later, you are thinking about it and getting flashbacks about the game because you want to improve as a player.

“But when the dust settles you need to learn from scenarios and, when that scenario happened here when we conceded a goal, it’s a case of, ‘let’s make sure this doesn’t happen again’.

“What happened two weeks ago was a freak for us. We were disappointed with it but as long as you learn from it, that’s the main thing.”

Fixtures against two of the Premiership’s top three — the Jambos and a Celtic side in a real fight to win the title — represent as tough a presplit finish as the Buddies could have received.

However, Fraser isn’t fazed by the challenges which lie ahead as he knows nothing comes easy in Scottish football’s top tier.

He said: “It’s the Premiership and every game is hard. We’ve seen that a couple of weeks ago against Kilmarnock when nobody saw that coming and we’ve seen it again here against Motherwell.

“We won’t look any further ahead than next week as we know how hard this division is and know how strong the teams are.

“If we do everything right in training and in terms of our preparation, we will give ourselves a right good chance next week.”

The SMiSA will be bouncing next weekend when Hearts — who still need points to secure third place in the table — arrive given the prize at stake.

It has been a month since Saints have played on their own turf when injury-time goals from supersubs Mark

O’Hara and Toyosi Olusanya clinched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Aberdeen.

“We’re back at home and it feels like it has been ages since we’ve had a home game,” Fraser said.

“I think it was that Aberdeen game so we’re looking forward to it.

“Our home fans really do create a brilliant atmosphere for us and everyone knows that we are strong at home.”
