MANHUNT AFTER TEEN GIRL ATTACKED INPARK
TERRIFYING ORDEAL AT PLAYING FIELDS
An investigation has been launched by Renfrewshire police after a young woman was attacked in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Detectives are appealing to the public for any information after an 18-year-old was left “distressed” following the terrifying ordeal.
The woman was walking through Moredun playing fields at Gleniffer Road, near to Donaldswood Road in Paisley, around 2am when she was approached by a man who then assaulted her.
Police say the young woman was left distressed by the attack but she did not require hospital treatment.
The man responsible is described as white, around 5ft 8in tall and of skinny build.
He was said to be wearing light grey clothing.
Police are now asking anyone with any information or dashcam footage to come forward as they bid to trace the suspect.
Detective Sergeant Craig Anderson said: “Our enquiries into the full circumstances of this incident are ongoing.
“I’d appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and saw a man acting suspiciously or matching the description given, to please contact us.
“I would also urge anyone with dash-cam or personal footage to check it in case it holds anything relevant.
“If you have any information at all, no matter how small you think the detail might be, please contact us and let us determine that. Your information could be essential to this inquiry.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
