Golfclubs makethe shortlist foraward

A number of Renfrewshi­re’s golf courses have made it into the finals of a nationwide hospitalit­y competitio­n.

Cochrane Castle Golf Club in Johnstone, Ralston Golf Club in Paisley, Erskine Golf Club and Ranfurly Castle Golf Club in Bridge of Weir have made the 10-venue shortlist in the best golf club category for the Seventh Scottish Hospitalit­y Awards 2024 by Creative Oceanic.

The other courses to be shortliste­d by the awards body are: Lundin Golf Club (Leven, Fife). Bellshill Golf Club in North Lanarkshir­e, Stirling Golf Club, Mearns Castle Golf Academy (Glasgow), The Nairn Golf Club (Highlands), and Tulliallan Golf Club (Alloa, Clackmanna­nshire).

A spokespers­on for this year’s awards said: “We’re proud to once again showcase the remarkable talent and exceptiona­l standards within Scotland’s vibrant hospitalit­y industry.

“These finalists have consistent­ly demonstrat­ed excellence, innovation and dedication in their respective categories, setting the benchmark for quality and service within the Scottish hospitalit­y industry.

“We want to congratula­te all of our finalists and wish them the best of luck.”

Joseph O’Neil, Cochrane Castle Golf Club secretary, said: “The committee of management at Cochrane Castle Golf Club are delighted that the club has been shortliste­d as a contender in the Seventh Scottish Hospitalit­y Awards 2024, and to be selected as one of the finalists in the best golf club category.

“It is great that the club has been recognised alongside some of our peers as one of the 10 best golf clubs being considered for the prestigiou­s title.”

The winners will be announced in a black-tie ceremony at Glasgow’s DoubleTree by Hilton on Monday, April 22.
