Glenburn nursery is keeping the promise
Everyone working at Glenburn Early Learning and Childcare Centre (ELCC) have become Promise Keepers, including the office and janitorial staff.
Promise Keepers are people committed to ensuring care -experienced children, their families and guardians receive the support and guidance they need.
Promise Keepers receive specialist training from Renfrewshire Council staff as part of the local authority’s commitment to the national Keep The Promise campaign.

Promise Keepers look at how their teams provide services, ensuring they are accessible to everyone, especially those who are care-experienced, and providing help and support where needed.
At Glenburn ELCC, the team are an important cornerstone, offering a listening ear to care-experienced children and parents in a nonjudgemental and supportive environment.
The team at the Paisley nursery learned words and phrases that reduce stigma for care-experienced people, and they are also mindful that anyone they speak to could be care-experienced.
Fiona Myles, the depute head for Glenburn ELCC, said:“Everyone who walks through the door is treated with respect, kindness and not judged.
“We provide support in both emotional and practical ways and also know where to signpost people for additional support.“
She added: “As Promise Keepers, we can help break down barriers, build confidence and help children and young people feel safe and secure in taking the first steps to share their thoughts, feelings and ideas about things that affect them, their lives and their future with us.”
Glenburn ELCC secured its Promise Keeper status as Renfrewshire marks Care Experienced History Month throughout April.
A spokesperson for Renfrewshire Council said: “We’d like to thank everyone at Glenburn ELCC for everything they do to support care-experienced people and also the Promise team supporting all Promise Keepers.”
