PRETTY BUTTERFLY
Fans of embossing will love creating this beautiful card by Yvonne. The pretty design goes so well with the delicate lilac colour card used to highlight the dainty pattern.
Trace
• Attach a piece of plain parchment to the pattern and secure with low-tack tape.
• Trace the square border lines with a white pencil. Mark the dots.
• On a separate piece of plain parchment trace the larger circle with a white pencil
• On another piece of plain parchment trace the smaller circle and floral design. Do not trace the butterfly.
• Remove the parchment from the pattern.
Shallow Perforate
• Working over the pattern with the semicircle tool, over a thin perforating mat, shallow perforate on the two circles as shown in the pattern.
Emboss
• Working on the reverse side of the parchment emboss the borders of the square and of the smaller circle with a small ball tool.
• Using the picture as a guide and using a variety of embossing tools, emboss the flowers and leaves. You may wish to stipple some of the flower petals with a one needle tool instead of embossing, to provide an additional texture. Using the star tool, emboss within the flower circle as directed on the pattern.
• Emboss inside the semi-circle perforations on the small circle with your star tool.
• Emboss inside the semi-circle perforations on the large circle with your small ball tool. Erase the pencil tracing of the circle.
• Emboss the dots within the square.
Perforate Deep
• Re-perforate the semi-circles on both circles using your semi-circle tool.
• Using your 2-needle tool, perforate around the edge of the square.
Cut
• Using parchment scissors or snips cut out the semi-circle perforations around the circles and the 2-needle perforations around the square.
