HAPPY BEE-DAY
Pay tribute to our fuzzy little friends with this eye-catching pattern ideal for spring and summer birthdays! The sentiment can easily be changed to suit any other occasion too!
Trace
• Attach yellow parchment with bright coloured side down onto the pattern. Trace the outside border lines and the hexagons with the brown pen.
Perforate
• Lightly perforate through the pattern with the semi-circle and the semi-square tools. Perforate the straight edges with a twoneedle tool (Step 1).
• Emboss a triangle shape inside the semisquare perforations and use the small sun tool inside the semi-circles (Step 2).
• Re-perforate using a fine single needle or the multi-needles, re-perforating all the holes.
Cut
• Cut all the perforations inside the hexagons to remove the inner parts, then cut the three inner perforations of the semi-square followed by the outer perforations to remove the waste parchment (Step 3).
FOR THE LABEL Trace
• On yellow parchment, trace the hexagon shapes and the words with the brown pen.
Perforate
• Perforate around the edge with the small semi-circle tool as before.
Emboss
• Emboss fully inside each semi-circle.
Cut
• Cut the outside edge perforations.
FOR THE BEES Trace
• Using plain parchment, trace the bee with the fine black pen.
Colour
• Using yellow and black coloured pencils, colour the bee (Step 4).
• Paint the wings with the glitter pen.
Perforate
• Perforate around the outer edge with the two-needle tool (Step 5).
To finish
• Punch a quantity of small and larger flowers from scrap plain parchment. Emboss the petals from one side and the centres from the other. Add flower soft or glitter to the centres.
• Carefully glue or sew the backing parchment onto a piece of orange card cut to 12.5cm square. Mount this onto a piece of brown card cut to 13.5 square. Glue the tag onto a piece of orange card and trim round it, then onto brown card and trim round. Using silicon glue or foam pads, attach to the card. Add a flower at the base and using silicon glue a bee at the top. Glue the flowers at the intersections of the hexagons and add the bee. Attach to a folded card.
