Say a walk­way con­ver­sa­tion is cut in half. Now, the di­a­logue writ­ten to fill it is too long, mean­ing a vi­tal plot point can’t be com­mu­ni­cated. There­fore, the story must be changed in some way in or­der to com­pen­sate for this.
