It seems the majority of our tech-savvy readers have no truck with cryptocurr­encies. “The whole cryptocurr­ency craze has become cult-like with people that don’t support it seen as stupid. It will never replace traditiona­l currency in Western society,” wrote Sean. Colin Cresswell, meanwhile, conducted an experiment: “I bought a very small amount of Bitcoin just to see how it worked. I think it’s a load of over-hyped nonsense.”

There were a handful of supporters, however. “Crypto will form part of our financial futures and should be embraced,” wrote Chris H. “As long as you feel comfortabl­e with what you are doing there is little to be scared of from it. That said, like everything else in life, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
