THE USA’s infamous Pike’s Peak hillclimb turned into a manufacturer cock-joust this year, with KTM and Ducati supporting potential winners on the 12-mile course.
Ducati’s latest Pike’s Peak Multistrada was wheeled out again under three-times winner, ’murican Carlin Dunne.
KTM won last year, with Chris Fillmore taking a course record on a Super Duke. This year, he rode a 790 Duke in the Middleweight class (which he won), with friend of PB Rennie Scaysbrook leading the Heavyweight charge.
Scaysbrook and Dunne were separated by fractions through practice, but on race day Dunne came out on top by just seven tenths. Scaysbrook was gutted, the ensuing Aussie swearathon too blue to print, anywhere...
