The best activities to get you out and about this month

baked to perfection

Nothing beats the mouthwatering smell and taste of freshly baked goods from a coal-fired range, and at Beamish, the living museum of the north, you can find this out first hand. In the cosy period setting of the museum’s Home Farm kitchen, you can spend a relaxed evening (period costume optional) getting to know the secrets of traditional home baking with help from the museum’s food team. Refreshments and a delicious supper are provided. The baking experience takes place on 15 February, 4.30–8.30pm, and costs £85 per person. For details and further dates visit beamish.org.uk.
